The Sejong Presidential Office reinterprets the traditional Korean architectural principles of "chae"(building clusters) and "madang"(courtyards) to establish a new relationship between architecture and nature, openness and security, and the state and its citizens. By translating the spatial order and aesthetics of Korean vernacular architecture into a contemporary language, the design creates a national landmark that embodies Korea's cultural identity. Each "chae" and "madang" is carefully integrated into the natural topography, moving beyond the monumental architectural language of the past to redefine the presidential office as an open civic place that reflects the values of a mature democracy. Situated at the symbolic intersection of Wonsusan Mountain, major civic spaces, and the Sejong National Assembly Complex, the proposal presents "Landscape of Wisdom"—a new presidential office that expresses the identity and dignity of contemporary Korea.
