Overview
GL Metro city Hangang adopts a Y-shaped massing strategy to maximize Han river views from each unit. The south façade of the tower is designed with a curtain wall system, enhancing panoramic visibility. To mitigate the imposing scale of the large mass and create a more pedestrian-friendly environment, the lower levels are articulated into a human-scale façade. Brick is used as the exterior material to introduce a sense of warmth. In addition, a series of uniquely themed garden spaces are placed between the towers, allowing them to connect with the buffer green zone along Jayu-ro to the south. Through this approach, the external spaces of the building are designed to engage seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
