Overview

Located between Mount Acha and Jungnangcheon Stream, the Health and Welfare Administration Town is a modernization project of the National Mental Health Center. The main purpose of the project was to replace the existing facility with negative images, thus avoided and severed, with a new place of communication and harmony with citizens. The new place had to be special with a meaning to make it an attractive destination with harmony as the key concept. Haeahn Architecture aimed to induce communication and natural integration by creating organic connections with the surroundings and establishing an open space at the center of the zone. Applied with a technology to adjust light and shadow, the tall tower that stands out would go well with the physical aspect of Mount Acha nearby, thereby fully reflecting the scenery of nature and the city. The Health and Welfare Administration Town is expected to become a space where the city and nature will communicate and a community attraction where people and culture harmonize.
