Best-known for Suncheonman Wetland, or the best national park, Suncheon is Korea’s representative ecological city. In spite of brilliant performances to regenerate old city centers in the past, Suncheon City was in need of fortifying its brand as ecological city and additional vital forces to attract tourists. The vitality of projects focusing on citizen participatory regeneration and the active connection with scenic Okcheon, Dongcheon, and Jokdobong Park served as great potentials, and they would make the city the precious nucleus of urban growths and urban nature in the future. Suncheon as the land of opportunities will surely become “The 3rd Park” for its citizens.
