Overview
This development is divided into two parts – a rigid upper-level mass housing the ‘CHA Biotech Stem Cell Institute’ and the ‘CMG Pharmaceutical Factory’ in a fluid lower-level mass below. Combined, these two programs encourage synergetic effects by establishing a harmony of spaces along with public spaces for the community. Two towers will be developed to lend context to the surrounding city, while a 30-meter wide public square connects a public park and the Gumto Stream. The lower levels weave together different program spaces such as outdoor theater, sunken plaza, biotech museum, and mentoring booths. The podium levels also act as a horizontal transition space for people and services to move between the two towers. Horizontal louvers on the north-facing façade control natural light within the space.
