Overview

After vacancy of the project site which was previously occupied by agricultural institutions and goverments, the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) intended to develop the vacant site as an agricultural museum. Althought the site is located in a center of the city, it is surrounded by beautiful landscape and public park; a waterscape composed by a huge historic reservoir from the east; a mountain with prehistoric site from the north; a experimental plow field - had been running by previous agricultural institutions and all together potentially to be a civic park with agricultural heritages. The building size is approximately 23,750 m² and required to house five distinctive programs: exhibition halls providing more experiential learning; education and convention space; green-house & outdoor spaces; work space for administors and researchers; and other support facilities.
