The development project of Yeosu Gyeong-do Ocean Tourist Resort is promoted by being designated as a supporting facility of International Expo Yeosu 2012. The complex is composed of a twenty seven-hole golf course and its related facilities and 100 villas in a special environment of an island surrounded by the sea in every direction. This project is well mixed with functional characteristics of leisure and lodgment, a symbolism as a supporting facility for an expo, and a unique characteristic of an island isolated from a land route. Based on the theme of Expo Yeosu 2012, ‘Living Sea and Breathing Coast’, design of the whole complex is attempted to express dynamic of waves surging against the sea coast and places emphasis on the building arrangement to view the sea and a course at the same time.
