Overview
MAAC (Mobility Alpha-line Anseong Campus) is a pilot project for independent battery research and manufacturing. By sharing the name “Alpha” with the first domestically developed Alpha engine project of 1991, it marks the beginning of a significant shift in Hyundai Motor Group’s history. As EV adoption accelerates globally, the establishment of EV and battery manufacturing facilities presents strong potential for wider replication. Responding to the growing need for battery in-house capabilities, MAAC proposes a new prototype for battery research, production, and work environments. The project explores manufacturing spaces optimized for battery characteristics while creating a research-focused workplace designed to maximize synergy.
