On July 18, 2024, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the 'Gadeokdo New Airport International Design Competition'. Taeman Kim attended and received the award on behalf of Haeahn Architecture, which was selected as the second prize winner.

The judging for this competition, which took place on June 21, was broadcast live on YouTube to ensure transparency and fairness among the seven submitted entries. The judging panel consisted of three professors, two architects, and two others. After presentations and Q&A sessions from the participating companies and discussions among the committee members, two winning designs and four runner-up designs were selected through voting. The first prize consortium, Heerim (Geonjeong, Now Engineering), was awarded the design rights for the new airport passenger terminal (worth 76 billion KRW), while the second prize consortium, Haeahn (HK, Tomoon), was awarded the design rights for ancillary buildings such as the control tower and integrated office building (worth 12 billion KRW), with plans to commence the design next month.

Yoonsang Lee, Director of the Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Corporation, stated, "Utilizing the winning design from this international competition, we will make every effort to ensure that Gadeokdo New Airport becomes the best airport structure in terms of convenience, safety, and aesthetic appeal, preparing it for its future role as a global gateway airport."
