Overview
Since the site for this project is located between irregular and narrow side streets having low recognition and restrictive height, it needed a strategy that could overcome this. The design for this building is layering the split solid mass to reflect the context of the irregular and split surroundings into architecture. Also, rooftop gardens are placed at every 2 to 3 levels to allow accessibility on various locations and make various opportunities to associate with surroundings. In contrast to the solid and small mass of usual lower floors, the glass pillars that surge up from the lower floor are designed together with the central part of the mass to make extreme contrast. By doing so, it emphasizes the recognition and symbolism from long distance, not only having a distinct design from the Knowledge Industry Center made with glass mass, but also advancing the function of the design to make it a new icon of the region.
