The project aims to establish a new archive respecting the region and history. Reflecting on the characteristics of various scales of urban organizations and the site adjacent to green land, the lower part of the building consists of a human scale mass and the upper part is consisted of an urban scale library mass. The building is located at the rear, forming a large entrance yard at the front. Depending on the nature of the program that requires tight security, general, security, and control zones were classified, and the records processing space provides convenience to users. The distinctive façade, motif of the ‘checkgado,’ which King Jeongjo is said to have always kept at his side, will complete a new landmark of the legal facility.
