The goal of the design is to maintain the historicity of the four cities, Yeongwol, Taebaek, Jeongseon, and Samcheok in Gangwon-do, and to promote and revitalize the region as symbols and tourism resources of the cities by improving the abandoned mining areas. The cave is a spatial concept that can implicitly explain and symbolize these goals. The overlapping images of the caves were embodied to express the connection and symbolism of the four cities and the excitement of the unknown world of the caves, which were planned as elements that induce expectations and interest in the exhibition / experience space. The public open spaces were divided into internal and external spaces, making it a convenient and practical open space for local residents.
