Ph.D, Professional Engineer Urban Planning & Construction Safety

With over 30 years at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Hoon Ryu led key initiatives in housing and urban planning to improve the city’s quality of life. He held major positions, including Director-General of the Urban Planning Office, Deputy Minister of the Housing and Architecture Office, and 2nd Vice Mayor, where he introduced integrated planning processes and citizen-centered urban policies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Seoul National University, a master’s in city planning from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. from Hongik University. After serving as a visiting professor at the University of Seoul, he joined HAEAHN Architecture to contribute his expertise toward building better cities for future generations.
